June 11, 1918 – April 19, 2014
Mary Alice Wagers Lee, age 95, of Cheyenne Drive passed away April 19, 2014. She was the widow of George Earl Lee. Mrs. Lee was born in Chester County in 1918 to the late Carpenter H. and Katie Lewis Wagers. She was a homemaker and reared five children; she was a member of New Life Baptist Church and the Golden Age Club and a former longtime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lee is survived by three sons, George, John R. "Bobby" and Carpenter Lee all of Blackstock; one brother, James C. Wagers of Blackstock; one sister, Esther Bigham of Chester; eleven grand-children; a large number of great-grand-children and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Katherine Carpenter and Lillian Keisler.
The visitation and funeral for Mrs. Lee will held at New Life Baptist Church on Tuesday April 22. The visitation will be from 1 until 2p.m and the funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. by Reverends Don Etters and Rick Morris. After the funeral Mrs. Lee will be laid to rest, beside her husband in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Blackstock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Agape Hospice 1029 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family is gathering at the home of Carpenter Lee, 2640 Cheyenne Drive in Blackstock.
