Mary Ellen C. Walker, age 82, went home to be with her heavenly Father on September 29, 2017. Mrs. Walker was born in York County to the late Horace and Lillie Ann Campbell Channell Knight. She Loved God and was a member of Chester First Church of the Nazarene. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Co.

She is survived by five daughters, Jackie Henderson of the home, Bobbie Henderson of Chester, Christine Howell of Chester, Teri Sanders (Troop) of Chester, Elaine Hood of Summerville; one sister, Sylvia Patterson of Rock Hill; one brother, Charles Channell (Agnes). She had 6 grand-sons, Michael Ray Hood, Scott Hood, Donnie Brazzell, Clint Dove (Bonnie), John Sanders, SSG Ethan Sanders, USMC; 1 grand-daughter, Crystal Henderson, and numerous great-grand-children, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Chester First Church of the Nazarene where she dearly loved each of her pastors. Mrs. Mary loved to make people happy with her canning, cooking and crocheted gifts. Nothing made Mrs. Mary happier than having her home filled with her family and friends.

The visitation and funeral for Mrs. Mary will be at Chester First Church of the Nazarene on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. The visitation will be from 1- 2:00p.m., the funeral will be conducted at 2p.m by Pastor Brian Howard. Reverend Ronnie Greene and Bishop David Levister.  Mrs. Mary will be laid to rest in Chester Memorial Gardens beside her beloved husband Raymond Walker.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to The Chester First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney St. Chester, SC 29706.
