Mitchell E. Roof I, age 49, of 1196 Radcliff Road died suddenly on June 28, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center in Pineville. Mr. Roof was the recent widower of Patricia Varnadore Roof who passed away earlier this month. Mitchell was a member of the Georgia Tribe Eastern Band of Cherokee. Mitchell was the son of Mr. Gordon N. Roof, Sr. of Chester and the late Diane Williams Roof Greene. He is survived by two sons, Mitchell E. Roof II of Chester and Michael Gregory Roof of the home; brothers Gordon Neely Roof Jr.( Darlene), and Randy Roof (Betsy), both of Chester, and Tony Roof (Sonia) of Richburg, Jimmy M. Varnadore (Dodie) of Chester; grandchildren, Brian Roof and Carrie A. Roof. He was predeceased by one daughter, Carrie Amanda Roof.
The funeral service for Mr. Roof will be officiated by Reverend Ronnie Greene at 6pm Monday at Pollard Funeral Home. The family is gathering at 1252 Goldmine Road at the home of his brother Neely.
