"Redd" James Leonard Crowl, age 70, of 873 Armory Road, passed away May 14, 2014. Redd was the son of the late Leonard and Eddie Mae King Crowl.  Redd is survived by his wife, Linda Wylie Crowl; son, Jason Crowl; and grandson, Jayden Crowl, all of the home. He was predeceased by one daughter, Renee Crowl Rollins and son-in-law, Anthony Rollins.

Redd was a Christian and he was retired from a career of truck driving. Make no mistake about it, he was known for: "calling it as he saw it"; his love of being a drag racer; going fast; hot rod cars; dove hunting, and fishing for Stripers and Largemouth Bass.

A gathering of Redd's friends and family will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pollard Funeral Home. His wishes were that Reverend Melvin Pressley and Pastor John Porter make very brief comments and those friends and family in attendance are to wear casual clothing because of Redd's dislike of neckties and having to "dress up".
