The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Richard E. Bland, Sr., 71, passed away Tuesday morning. He was the son of the late George W. & Minnie Benson Bland. He is survived by three sons, Richard E. Bland, Jr. (Sharon) of W. Columbia, SC and Dwayne Charles of Conway, SC, Jon Hall (Kelly) of Chester; four daughters, Melissa Locklear (Weldon) of Chester, Peggy Hinson (Billy Groves) of Chester, Donna Bland (Matt Keenon) of Chester and Kimbrella Jude of Conway, SC; two brothers, George B. Bland, Jimmy Bland both of Chester; four sister-in-laws, Anita Bland, Barbara Jo Bland, Darlene Greene (Dennis) and Peggy Stapleton; twenty four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Bland, Robert W. Bland, Sr., one sister, Kathy Hall, one daughter, Sherry York.
