Ruby Jane Lucas Rakes, age 73, went home to be with her heavenly Father on August 20, 2015. She was born in Cabell County, West Virginia to the late Raymond and Orea Adkins Lucas. Mrs. Rakes was the widow of Arlie M. Rakes. She is survived by three sons, Freddie Rakes of Montgomery, WV, James Rakes (Shirley) of Minerva, Ohio, Alan Rakes (Shannon) of Union, SC; two daughters, Brenda R. Roden and Helen R. (Scott) Dove both of Chester; three brothers, Dan Lucas and David Lucas both of Amherst, Ohio, Haskell Holley of Hamlin, WV; one sister, Diana Holley of WV; twenty four grandchildren, Ida, Fred, Angela, Zach, Shawn, Chris, Jessica, Tim, Jeremy, Samantha, Brian, Damian, Joshua, Alisha, Daniel, Sania, Archie, John, Amanda M., Amanda R., Alan II, Hank, Ricky, Mandi; and 45 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mrs. Rakes will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
