Sheryl Lynn Pennington age 51, of 1246 Liberty Road passed away Feb. 22, 2016. She was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1964 to Sharon Hackney Laney Roof of Chester and the late Gathen Laney. She was adopted and reared by her aunt and uncle, the late Ada and Odis Laney. She is survived by two brothers, Tony Roof and his wife Melissa whom Sheryl regarded as a "sister", and Robert  Laney; two sisters, Donna Laney McWorter and Angie Sims; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Harley and Christopher Roof, Brandon Sigafoos and BJ Sigafoos.

She was a retired kitchen manager in the restaurant industry; a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Chester two years ago she made her home in Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at the home, 1246 Liberty Road, 6p.m. Friday the 26th of February.
