Shirley H. Cooper, 83, passed away July 9, 2026. She was the widow of Robert (Gene) Cooper. Born in Chester, SC, Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of late Percy and Myrtle Barber Hewitt. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Cooper of Seneca; her son, Robert W. Cooper of Chester; her sister, Peggy Joyce Hewitt Lee of Ft. Mill; her grandchildren John A. Cooper and Colin R. Cooper; great-grandchildren, Rowan M. Cooper and Ryleigh Revis.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Glen Hewitt and Ruby Hewitt Parker.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of Chester Freedom Ministries. She was quite an artist; she loved sketching, ceramics, cross stitching and other art.

Her graveside funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Steve Bishop at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 13 at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at the grave after the graveside service.
