Chester

Steve W. Harris, 81, husband of Katherine Porter Harris passed away at his home on Friday afternoon. He was born in Rockingham, NC, to the late Robert and Blanch Bridges Harris. He is also survived by one son, Steve Wade Harris, Jr. (Patricia) of Chester ; one daughter, Tina Porter (Mark) of Chester; four brothers, Robert Harris, Jr., Jerry Harris, Perry Harris and Leo Harris; one sister, Joan Hager; grand-children, Breah Harris, Kaitlyn Roof, Amber Davis, Brett Matthews and Ashley White; one great-grandson, Grayson Inman; a large number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Harris was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was retired from Springs Industries. He enjoyed farming, loved working in his garden and hunting birds and rabbits.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., September 26th. at Wilkesburg Baptist Church. The Celebration of life will be conducted by Reverend Seth Johnson at 4:00 p.m.

The family suggest memorials in lieu of flowers be made to either Wilksburg Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3137 Pinckney Road, Chester, SC 29706 or The National Kidney Foundation, 4819 Park Road Suite C, Charlotte, NC 28209.
