Sylvia Frances Thompson Roof, 68, of Chester passed away Thursday in MUSC-Lancaster. She was the daughter of Iva Varnadore Thompson Hopper and the late Franklin S. Thompson. She is survived by her companion, Bruce "Shorty" Allen of the home; daughter, Lisa Rena'e Estes of Chester; stepdaughter, Jessie Allen of Highpoint, NC; brother Jody Thompson (Rena) of Great Falls; sister, Karen Stuart (Chuck) of Chester; step-sister, Frances Ann Mabry of Rock Hill; granddaughters, Cassie Hawkins (Lee), Chelsey Estes. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ruby Thompson and stepfather, W.D. "Bill" Hopper, brother, Randy Thompson and twin infant sons.

Sylvia was a member of The Community Church and she loved fishing, eating watermelon, drinking Coca-Cola, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and her puppy Coco.

The family will host a Celebration of Life, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25th. at The Community Church. Dean Birch will speak.
