Thomas Poole Grant, I of 113 Saluda Street, suddenly departed this life on March 18, 2013 in Piedmont Medical Center.
The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00p.m., Wednesday, at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester. The funeral will be conducted by Pastor John Porter at 3:00p.m., Thursday at Chester First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney Street in Chester. Mr. Grant will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Grant was born in Chester and he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas "Ted" and Hazel Poole Grant. He is survived by one son, Teddy Grant and his wife Kim of Chester; one brother, "Buddy" Edmund Grant of Chester; one sister Tina Wright and her husband, Leonard of Kings Mountain, NC; also grand-daughter Brealey Grant; numerous step grand-children; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one grand-daughter, Cayleigh Jordan Grant.
Mr. Grant was retired from Chester Foundry. He also worked for many years at the Chester Golf Club and was well known in the golf community for his love of the game. He was also a member of the Chester Shag Club and an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers. He never met a stranger and he accumulated a huge group of friends during his life.
