Tillie McClintock Roberts of the Halsellville community, died peacefully in Columbia, SC, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on June 3, 2015 at the age of 90.

Tillie is survived by her son, Dr. John E. Roberts, III, of Chester, her daughter, Jan Roberts Hammond (Edward) of Columbia; grandchildren, Clint Hammond (Rachel), John Hammond, and Jenny Hammond Gantt (Michael) all of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Gibbs Hammond; sisters, Anne Fritz of Savannah, Ga. and Margie Shealy of Chapin; brothers-in-law Press and Kirk Roberts of Chester; sister-in-law, Kitty Wright of Salem, SC.  She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, John E. Roberts, Jr.; brother Jimmy McClintock, Jr. KIA- WWII; sister, Ruth Price.

Tillie was born on July 27, 1924, in Winnsboro, SC to the late James and Nina Stevenson McClintock. In 1946, she married the love of her life, John E. Roberts, Jr., who served as the Chester County Auditor for 34 years.

Tillie was adored by so many for her spunk, wit, famous sayings and stories, greeting them with sayings like "well, aren't you good looking!" An amazing cook, she loved to entertain and always welcomed everyone into her home, often saying she "fed everyone in Chester".  Above all, she will be remembered for her kindness and the way she made everyone she met feel like family. There was nothing more important to her than her family, and they all knew how much she loved them. In the last few years of her life, she loved to say "I've had a wonderful life" and that "Jesus loves you, but I'm his favorite". Thankfully she is with Him now.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to All Seasons Hospice for their loving care, especially Amanda Moore, RN and Amber Farmer. Additionally, the family is so thankful for the loving attention by Frances Ruff from Care by Generations.

The funeral will be conducted by Reverend Terry Wingate at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in honor of Tillie to Beaver Creek Baptist Church and mailed in care of the church to 2953 Ashford Road, Blackstock, SC 29014.
