Mr. Vincent "Catdaddy" Lee Welch, Jr., 65, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Novant Thomasville Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born May 21, 1958, in Chester County, SC, to the late Vincent Lee Welch, Sr. and Mary Frances Carter Welch.  Vincent worked many years as a supervisor in the highway building industry.  He enjoyed talking about politics and history.  Vincent liked, music, old cars, fishing and really enjoyed Clemson football.

In addition to his parents, Vincent is preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Carter Welch.

Vincent is survived by his wife, Cindy Kern Welch of the home; a son, Vincent Lee Welch, III; two daughters, Heather Braddy and fiancé Kevin Kirby, Rebecca Welch; nine grandchildren, Tyler Holder, Emory Holder, Bradly Holder, Ava Welch, Vanessa Welch, Serenaty Mundy, Donald Bailey, Jr., Leighlan Hill, Jaylin Welch; a brother Dale Welch and wife Teresa; a sister, Kathy Roberts.  He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville, NC, at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Ronnie Payne officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

An additional memorial service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC on June 3, 2023.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM and a graveside service will commence at 2:00 PM.  Pollard Funeral Home is serving the family in Chester, SC.
