Virginia Hughes Roberts, age 74, of Chester passed away February 9, 2021. She was the widow of J.W. Roberts and he daughter of Howard H. and Mamie Catledge Hughes. She is survived by one son, James Roberts of York; one daughter, Patricia Elliott (Eric) of Rock Hill; one sister, Carolyn Evans (Michael) of Chester; grand-children, Christopher, Jordan, Dillon and Caleigh Roberts, Tonyia A. Weir, Heather Peterson, Anthony Webb, Michael Elliott and Cheyenne Elliott; great-grand-daughter and her sweet angel, Harleigh Yochem; one niece, Vickie Hinson; one nephew Robby Poston. She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Weir.

The funeral will be 2p.m. Thursday Feb. 11 ^th at Pollard Funeral Home conducted by Reverends Barry Looper and Ted Tinker. Visitation will be held in the chapel following the service. The family respectfully requests that guests wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.

Mrs. Roberts was a retired floral designer. She loved natures beauty and working in her flower garden. She will always be remembered as one that had kind words of encouragement for everyone. She was a member of Sanctuary Hills Church of God of Prophecy in York.
