Volenious Ferrell "Cooter" King, age 68, wife of Jerry D. King, went to her eternal home on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George R. and Eva May Robbins Ferrell. Mrs. King was a member of Saint Paul Presbyterian Church. She found a great joy in singing.
She is also survived by one daughter, Michelle King Trotter of Abbeville; two brothers, Harvey "Rooster" Ferrell of Chester and James Edward Ferrell of Myrtle Beach; two grand-children, Lacee Brown and Mandee Wilkes. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Ferrell; two brother-in-laws Dewey King and John Gilbert King.
Visitation for Mrs. King will be Friday night from 6 to 8pm at Pollard Funeral Home and the funeral will be conducted 2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Jerry Devinney will officiate. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family is gathering at the home, 529 Ferrell Avenue in Chester. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, 2275 India Hook Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
