William Earl Gladden, age 91, of Chester passed away December 3, 2017. He was the widower of Gennette L. Gladden and the son of the late Walter C. and Lenora Hornsby Gladden. Mr. Gladden is survived by one daughter and her husband, Ann and Andy Weir of Chester; one step grand-daughter and her husband, Melanie and David McDaniel of McConnells and one great-grandchild, Hannah McDaniel.

Mr. Gladden was a lifelong member of Mt. Olivette Presbyterian Church in Fairfield County. He retired from Chester Memorial Gardens and enjoyed vegetable gardening, yard sales, and working on friends and neighbors lawnmowers.

The family thanks his devoted neighbors, Christine Hardin and Clay Camps, the staffs of Hospice Care of South Carolina and Chester County Nursing Center for their loving care.

On Wednesday December 6, visitation for Mr. Gladden will be held at Pollard Funeral Home, 1-2 p.m.; Reverend Jim McClure will then speak at the 2:30 p.m. graveside funeral at Chester Memorial Gardens.
