Dewey D. Fowler, Jr. age 83, left us to be with the Lord, Monday with his loving wife and family at his bedside. He was born in Selma, NC to the late Dewey and Lillie Mae Davis Fowler, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Linda Benfield Fowler; one son, Dewey D. "Pat" Fowler, III (Shawn); three daughters, Tammy Lynn Zvodar (John) of Alabama, Nina Dougan (David) of Chester, Jennifer Bowden (Jared) of NC, one brother, Earl Fowler of Rock Hill; thirteen grand-children and 15 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Mitchel Fowler.
Mr. Fowler was a retired employee of General Tire in Charlotte, NC and he was also a retired pastor and member of First Church of Acts in the Bullocks Creek Community. Mr. Fowler enjoyed fishing, going to antique tractor shows and leather craft. He was known as “the Leatherman” because of his quality made wallets and belts.
Pastor Scotty Gibson will officiate the celebration of life service for Mr. Fowler at 11 a.m. Friday, March 12th in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home.
