Frank Dupree Suber, III, age 79, passed away Sunday morning in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late Irene Wynn Suber and Frank D. Suber, II. Frank was retired superintendent of Chester Sewer District (now Chester County Wastewater Recovery). He is survived by one son and his wife, Mark and Kathy Suber of Chester; one sister, Cindy McKinzie of Canton, Georgia; two grandsons, Will Suber (Beth) of Chester, Dayton Suber of Chester; one great-granddaughter, Layla Suber. He was preceded in death by one sister, Susann Poole.
Frank was a world class sport shooting competitor. In 1966 he qualified and competed as the only civilian of the Four Man US International Skeet Team and winning the Gold Medal, (now the National Skeet Shooting) in Wiesbaden, Germany. He won the HOA SC State Championship 6 times and in 1998 he was inducted into the SCSSA Hall of Fame. Frank was a member of the Greenville Gun Club, Spartanburg Gun Club and other gun clubs. He was a deer, duck and dove hunter. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the home, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15th at 1353 Suber Lane in Chester. The Memorial Gathering will be 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17th at Pollard Funeral Home 115 York Street, Chester, SC.
