Herbert Edwards Obituary

Herbert Franklin “Herb” Edwards, age 73, was the son of the late Oscar Manning Edwards and Helen Bearden Edwards. He is survived by his son, Matthew Manning Edwards (Ami) of Seneca, SC; grand-daughters, Emma and Lacey Edwards of Seneca. Herb is also survived by his long-time companion, Jayne Alexander of Inman; two brothers, W. Ryon Edwards, Sr. of Spartanburg (Judy Richardson) and T. Kenneth Edwards (Jane) of Greer, former wife, Brenda Lacey Hunnicutt of Seneca.; sister-in-law, Martha C. Edwards of Spartanburg.

Herb attended North Greenville College and was a golf course superintendent at Oconee Country Club, Seneca, SC, Monroe Golf & Country Club, Monroe, Georgia and Falcon’s Lair Golf Club in Walhalla, SC. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Herb had a life-long love affair with fashionable clothing, golfing, treasure hunting, making walking sticks and telling stories.

Dr. Tim Clark and Bill Sloan will speak at the celebration of Herb’s life, 11 a.m. Monday, with social distancing protocols for family and close friends, at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church by visiting hollyspringsbc.org or mailing your memorial to the church at 251 Hannon Rd. , Inman, SC 29349.
