Homer Dean Lindsey, Sr. began his walk in Glory land on Sunday, April 2nd. He was twice widowed; first of Ella Louise Gregory Lindsey and lastly of Maybelle Hardin Lindsey. He was the son of the late Furman Albert Lindsey, Sr. and Bessie Godfrey Lindsey.
He is survived by sons, Dean Lindsey, Jr. (Pauline), Billy Ramsey (Patricia) and their children, Kenneth Ramsey (Shannon) and their children, and Alton Ramsey (Sharon) and their children; daughter, Trish Jennings and her children; son-in-law, John P. McKeown; daughter-in-law, Judy Ramsey and her children; grandchildren, Lisa M. Burrell, Brandy M. Lindsey, Dean Lindsey III; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children, Elaine L. McKeown, Shirley Roberts, Larry Ramsey, Bobby Ramsey, Baby Boy Lindsey; siblings, William C. Lindsey, Sr., James A. Lindsey, Ralph L. Lindsey, Furman Lindsey, Mini Ballew, Mable Lindsey, Frances Lindsey, Lula Bell Lindsey.
Homer was a member of Lowrys Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, fishing at Lake Wateree, rabbit hunting, and caring for dogs. He loved participating and watching the sport of boxing in his younger years.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made in Homer’s memory to Agape Hospice of SC, 1326 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4th at Pollard Funeral Home. Services will follow immediately in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. and officiated by Chaplin Bob Martin of Agape Hospice of SC.
The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Pollard Funeral Home is serving the family.
