Jimmy T. McWaters

Jimmy Taylor McWaters, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. He was the son of late Robert T. and Floride Smith McWaters. Jimmy T. served in the U.S. Army prior to working as a machinist at Consolidated Engraving and maintenance for the Chester Golf Club.

Jimmy T. was a member and Past Master of Sandy River Masonic Lodge 207 and attended worship at Capers Chapel U.M.C. He was a devout coach and served on the board for many years for the Chester Dixie Girls Softball League.  Jimmy T. loved to cook, bowl, and spend time with family and friends.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica (Chad Bramlett), and Michelle Lowery (Travis) and the mother of his children, Judy McWaters. He is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Wilkes (Charles) and three grandchildren, Reid Bramlett, Wilkes Bramlett, and Emma Lowery. His is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Jimmy T. was preceded in death by one brother, John Robert McWaters and one sister, Judy Orr. 

The family will receive friends 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Thursday at Pollard Funeral Home and at other times at his home, 632 Still Street, in Chester.

The Reverends James Curran, Vernon Craig, and Ralph Byars will officiate the celebration of life service, 2:00 p.m. Friday at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chester Dixie Baseball/Softball in honor of Jimmy T’s love of the game or Capers Chapel UMC.
