Peggy Porter Henderson, 86, passed away Saturday morning in a York County nursing facility.
She was twice widowed; first of Marion Bigham and lastly of Grady L. Henderson. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Nannie R. Porter. Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughter, Karen White (Eddie) of York; three sisters, Mary Jo Ivey, Patricia Enix (Bobby), Jean Harris, Linda Stephenson (Francis) all of Chester, nine grandchildren, a number of great- grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son, Butch Bigham (Susan) two brothers, James and John H. Porter; one sister, Elizabeth Brunett.
Mrs. Henderson was retired from Springs Industries-Springsteen Plant and a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church.
The visitation will be 3:00 – 3:50 p.m. Monday at Wilksburg Baptist Church. The celebration of life memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. and conducted by Rev. Seth Johnson. The burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Wilksburg Baptist Church.
