Sheila Mae (Preston) Stanley

Sheila Mae Stanley, 67, died Aug. 18, 2019, with her family by her side in Rock Hill, SC.

She was born September 19, 1951, in Cortland, NY, to George and June Preston (7^th child of 14).

She graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1969 and started her employment at Cresent Corset Factory.   

Sheila had the good fortune to retire early after running a successful business, B & I Distributors in Marathon, NY, with her husband, Reginald.

Family meant everything to Sheila.  She designed her life around family, putting everyone else first. Besides spending time with family, Sheila had a passion for traveling and gardening. Sheila’s special interests and hobbies included; quilting, scrapbooking, woodworking, crocheting, sewing, and photography.  She was incredibly creative and loved anything that allowed her to work with her hands.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Reginald; one son, Reginald (Danielle) Stanley, Jr. of Cortland, NY; one daughter Carrie (David) Root of Chester, SC; five grand-children, Olivia Root, Micayla Stanley, Austin Root, Hunter Root, Brayden Stanley; mother June (Case) Preston; sisters Barb Hammond, Lois Ann Preston, Linda Handsel, Marlene Stanley, Sherry Preston, and Renee Gray; brothers Edwin Preston, James Preston, and Kevin Preston.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Preston; brothers Donald Preston, Robert Preston, LeRoy Preston; sister Cynthia Preston.

Sheila’s loving spirit will live on in us, and we will forever be grateful for her presence. She made the world a better place for her having been here.
